The couple wanted their wedding to be as meaningful as possible, so they had friends provide many of the wedding services and kept the event to just 30 guests.
Kristen & John: Outdoor Wedding Day with Accents of Greenery and Rose Gold
Wedding: January 2, 2017
Ceremony & reception: The Terrace Club, Dripping Springs
Honeymoon: Puerto Rico
Kristen Anderson and John Connelly met while working at the Woodlands YMCA, monitoring the rock wall and doing child care. They developed a friendship, which over time deepened and soon, the pair was happily dating. The couple went camping for their three-year anniversary, and John wanted them to stay up until midnight to celebrate the moment they reached that milestone. Inside their tent, as the clock struck midnight, he asked her to close her eyes while he prepared her present. When she opened her eyes, he was on one knee with a ring, and asked if she would spend the rest of her life with him. Good news: She said yes. Their wedding was a 125-person celebration of family and close friends. The design theme featured greenery and rose gold, chosen because rose gold is the color of their wedding rings. Kristen and John both love Italian food and decided to host an Italian pasta bar for dinner so that guests could choose the exact delicacies they desired. One particularly special moment came during ceremony, when Kristen’s brother led the couple’s dog, Charming, down the aisle wearing a Go Pro on a harness. Later, they were able to watch the ceremony from Charming’s point of view.
