The couple wanted their wedding to be as meaningful as possible, so they had friends provide many of the wedding services and kept the event to just 30 guests.
Morgan + Andy: Glitter and Glam at a Rustic Ranch in Wimberly
Wedding: May 27, 2017
Ceremony & reception: Kevin Fowler’s Rustic Ranch, Wimberley
Morgan Hollingshead and Andy Holliday met through a mutual friend over six years ago, and quickly fell for one another. They have a lot in common, Morgan says, yet balance each other in ways that make them a great team. Throughout their relationship, they bonded by going hiking together—so when Morgan had finished a tough semester in nursing school, Andy suggested they hike through Lost Maples State Park to see the fall color. When they reached a summit overlooking the vibrant maple trees, he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. The couple wanted their wedding to be small enough that it felt intimate, yet large enough that it felt like a real party. With 100 of their closest friends and family members watching, they read heartfelt, handwritten vows, which they recall as one of the most special moments of their day. They chose vendors that had special meaning to them, including caterer Green Mesquite BBQ because they’ve enjoyed eating there throughout their relationship, and the Statesboro Revue band because they’ve been to many of their concerts through the years. It made the wedding extra-special to share these things they love with their guests.
